Huge changes will have gamers returning to the House on the Hill to explore its mysteries and experience its horrors.
Avalon Hill and Hasbro have announced the 3rd edition of Betrayal at House on the Hill. The latest edition of the game will feature 50 new Haunts for players to explore with some of these haunts having ties to the second edition.
For those new to the game, Betrayal is a board game that features players exploring a haunted house. At some point the ‘Haunt’ takes place resulting in one player becoming the betrayer and working to cause the demise of the others before time is up.
In addition to the new Haunts, some of the differences in the third edition include better components, new art, streamlined gameplay, and more expandability in the future. Other major rule changes were outlined in the communication from Hasbro Pulse:
“We’ve also moved away from the Haunt matrix that determined how the game would twist and change when the haunt was rolled. Instead, players now choose a Scenario card that reflects why their characters have come to the house. When the Haunt is rolled, players will compare the Omen drawn to a chart on the back of the Scenario card to determine which Haunt will be played.”
Pre-orders for the 3rd edition of Betrayal at House on the Hill open today on the Hasbro Pulse site with an expected release some time in the back half of 2022.
I am sure this will be dropping before Halloween.
